The Blackbear series represents everything I love most about my craft: ALWAYS having access to a knife that is satisfying to use. The kind of knife you use every day, and that you take care to clean and store properly.
In a world of overconsumption and planned obsolescence, we have the power to make a difference by being mindful consumers.
So I set myself this goal: a series of knives that as many people as possible can afford, using the same high-quality steel as always, but with a simpler, more refined construction. To this, we add a handle made from durable recycled material, the elegance of brass, and a solid yet removable assembly, making it easy to maintain and preserve for decades to come.
The real challenge: achieving all this in a $200 knife.
The key: a design that allows us to be ultra-efficient in production, without cutting corners, and an accessible recycled material.
